FAQs
How do I choose a location?
I have been to many locations, and have a good idea of spots that we can use for your shoot that promise nice light and a quiet background. This might be a stunning landscape, a quiet urban area, the beach, or some interesting walls. Once we know what we are capturing we can chat about locations and I can send you a list. I am also always up for visiting a new or meaningful location you might have in mind.
How many people can attend.
I ask that you keep your attendance list as small as possible, especially for more intimate shoots, or family shoots. I prefer we keep things to immediate family only, or people that are actually in the images.
Of course if you want a friend or family member to come for moral support they are welcome, but please letme know in advance.
For brand shoots, there are often makeup artists, hair stylists + other suppliers on site. I ask that once they are 'done' that they pack up and head out so that we can work with minimal interruption and maximum flow(unless they are needed throughout the shoot for touchups/big changes).
What do I wear?
One of the most asked questions. We will cover this in our initial shoot questionnaire and out pre-shoot chat. I also send out a booking relevant client info guide with suggestions that you can review and we can chat about.
How long until I receive my photos?
I ask that you give me up to 1 month in order to deliver your image gallery.
This allows me to give your images the necessary care and love they deserve. Prints are generally within 2weeks of you placing your order.
How do I pay for my shoot?
Once you have chosen a date, your non-refundable deposit will be due. This is required to secure your shoot and is 50% of the total shoot price. The balance of payment is due on the day of your shoot or before. I offer bank transfer and credit card payments.
Do you travel for sessions?
Within the CBD is included in your shoot price. Travel outside of the CBD (30 mins +) will require a travel fee that I will quote once the location is determined. I absolutely travel all over for shoots!
What happens if we are unwell or the weather is bad?
I will check the weather the week prior to your session and will be in contact with you if things aren't looking great. If required we can move your shoot location, or the date if there is no other location option that works. Please let me know if you are unwell as soon as possible so that we can postpone your shoot.
What do YOU wear to our shoot
My aim is to blend in, and above all wear something that allows free movement and comfort so that I can focus on you. If I am attending a special event, wedding or specific style of venue I will check with you to ensure I am in line with the dress code expectations.
How do you prefer to communicate
I prefer to use email for all communications. Occasionally I may use Instagram or Pinterest for casual communication, however please use email for all formal communication, including booking changes, questions or suggestions.
How much retouching do you do?
All of the images you receive are individually edited for colour, contrast, exposure and style. Some images require additional editing of minor and temporary things (blemishes, power points etc), however detailed retouching, skin smoothing or photoshopping elements are not included in my packages and are available for an additional fee.
Do you deliver RAW files.
I deliver all of my images in both High and Low resolution JPEGs. I do not send out RAW files.
How do I access my photos?
Once your images are ready, I will send you a link to a digital gallery. You can download the images in bothHigh and Low resolution. You can share the gallery with your friends in full, or we can chat about how you can send only the images you want them to see. I can password protect your gallery also if needed.
Do you deliver every image you shoot?
No, I don't. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focus shots, shots with less than favourable expressions or images that do not compliment the overall gallery. Though, I promise, every great photo I take will be in your gallery!
Who owns the images?
As the photographer, I own the rights to the images. You are free to use the images for your own personal use.
Commercial rights are also given in commercial shoots to utilise the images for your own business. If one of your suppliers, contractors or another party wishes to use the images for commercial purposes they will need to purchase a licence for the images directly from me, unless otherwise discussed and in writing.
